Hannah Breland
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
Specialty
I work with individuals who have spent years surviving, over-working, and doing “all the right things” but who still feel stuck in cycles of anxiety, self-doubt, people-pleasing or burnout. My clients are often exhausted from experiencing symptoms of trauma, shame-spirals, depression, loneliness and feelings of overwhelm. Many have been to therapy before and wonder, “Is this as good as it gets?”
In therapy with me, we’ll move past just talking about your problems. Together, we will work toward a life where you feel happy, relaxed, and at peace with who you are. You will learn how to quiet your self-doubt, trust your choices, and make close, safe friendships.
In our work, we will build a hands-on, supportive space where you can finally stop simply surviving. True healing happens when you address more than just your thinking and finally learn how to make your body feel safe. We will use creativity, movement, and play to help you feel calm and comfortable in your own skin. You can stop just trying to get through the day and start enjoying a life full of peace and purpose.
If you are ready to reclaim your smile, quiet your self-doubt, and feel a lasting peace within your own skin, I would love to work together.
Supporting Neurodivergent Clients and Parents
I also work with individuals who feel emotionally overwhelmed, misunderstood, or lonely in daily life and relationships. If you have a different way of thinking, like Autism or ADHD, or parent a child who is neurodiverse, I want to help you find a space where you feel genuinely seen, understood, and supported. Together, we will look at therapy in a whole new way. Your unique differences are not a hindrance to hold you back. They are a superpower to be celebrated!
We will work as a team to find what healing looks like for you and build a strong foundation where you feel emotionally stable, completely safe to be yourself, and make meaningful connections with others.
Experience
Hannah is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a Masters of Social Work from University of West Florida, and a certified trauma-informed jiu jitsu instructor. She is trained in Autplay Therapy and Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She has taken extensive trainings in Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), play therapy, art therapy, bibliotherapy, and sand work. Hannah has focused most of her continuing education on therapies that best help trauma and support individuals with neurodivergent diagnoses.
Outside of Refuge
You can find me practicing and instructing jiu-jitsu, taking day trips to the beach with my pup, or getting lost in the fantasy world of a good book. I feel the most alive when I am embodying main-character energy and connecting to my body through movement—whether that’s on the mats, out hiking, or running along the coast.
